Shop Update and other stuff.

Well, it is all happening over here.

I mean, the weather is just ridiculously gorgeous, don’t you think? Castlemaine in Spring is a festival of flowers, everywhere are clusters of the brightest wild flowers. Personally, I go for muted colours, but when nature puts up a show like this, I cannot resist a smile.

And I also smile when I stumble upon a pattern that I feel is just perfectly gorgeous and most importantly, flattering. We like flattering!

And it is using one of my all time favourite fabrics, double gauze from Nani Iro. Irresistible, really.

Honey Blouse

This would look lovely and very elegant in Valori Wells or Anna Maria Horner  Voile,  I think.

For a more casual, beachy top, check out the Shearwater Kaftan, also perfect in a Double Gauze or Lightweight Cotton.

Another pattern that has come it today is the Lazy Day Hat.

Lazy Day Hat

Coming into 4th term at school, we have been reminded once again of the importance of wearing sun hats outside. And I cannot stress enough the importance to wear a funky one… One that uses your favourite fabric and is reversible. This pattern is so clever and a great all-round hat for the family. You can make yourself a sun hat to match your new skirt? Or is that going a bit too far???

We also restocked on our ever popular A+Skirt pattern. I have made several of these using denim, but also bold cotton prints. For something especially summery, you could sew one in Double Gauze, the ultimate summer fabric. I have one Nani Iro design in stock, but more are coming in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out. They are irresistible in feel and design.

If you sew cosy flannel jammies in winter (or lounge pants if you will) the spring definitely calls for light and breezy cotton pj’s. We stock the stylish adult version and now have also the kid’s sizes available.

I know what Santa will be putting in the kid’s stockings this year…..

What are you sewing, now that summer is around the corner?

Enjoy!

Alex.
